Servie,
It has been great hosting you at CESA 10 up in Chippewa Falls. You were so much help setting up for the Taylor County Fair to advertise resources for homeless students. We hope you learned a lot from the Eric Jensen presentation on Teaching/Engaging students with poverty in mind. And that was only the first week of visiting up here! It was also nice to have you add in your knowledge of National Service to our End of Year Presentation. Thank you for all of your help with planning the DPI orientation for all CESA’s VISTA’s, as well as joining the Chippewa County Council on Homelessness and Hunger meeting. It has certainly been an eventful two weeks.
Until next time, Servie!
CESA 10 VISTA’s,
Shelby Schuppe & Ashley Parkhurst
| Mike, CESA 10 Administrator, went "Wilson" for Servie Badger. |
| Ginny showed Servie around her office space and even gave him a heart shaped paper clip to take on the road! |
| Kristen, former VISTA Supervisor, was excited to see so much support for the VISTA project and for Servie visiting. |
| Shelby welcomed Servie to CESA 10 and started off by showing him around the office space |
| Servie attended the presentation by Eric Jensen where he kicked it off by having everyone figure out what "Poverty is...". This was a great start to the presentation since this is what AmeriCorps is all about! |
| Diane, CESA 10 VISTA's supervisor, gave Servie a warm welcome showing him what CESA is all about. |
| Ashley and Servie are both spending the day saying goodbye to CESA 10. Ashley has finished a year of service with the DPI project and has done a lot of great things along the way. She helped a school revitalize their mentoring program, got vouchers for clothing and supplies for students, and set up a poverty simulation at CESA 10. It has been a great year Ashley! Servie will be heading back to Madison in a few hours and is saying goodbye to everyone at CESA 10 (for now). |
| Servie helped greet people and talk about local homelessness, resources, and the AmeriCorps VISTA program at CESA. |
| Leigh was excited to see Servie arrived to CESA 10 safe and sound. |
